Taxi between Tel Aviv and Modi'in

Modi'in has the best rail link of any city this far out of Tel Aviv — and it still stops for Shabbat, stops at night, and does not know your address. A car is what you take when the train cannot finish the job.

The line the train made easy

Modi'in has one of the better rail links in the country. The Modi'in line reaches Tel Aviv in around half an hour, and on a weekday morning with a small bag it is genuinely hard to beat — we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. A car earns its place at the edges of that: when you are carrying more than hand luggage, when the address is not beside Modi'in Center, when a meeting runs late, when you land at Ben Gurion, and on Shabbat and holidays — when the trains stop altogether and a taxi is the only way to make the trip.

Shabbat, the airport and late nights

Public transport in Israel stops for Shabbat. From Friday afternoon until Saturday night there are no trains and no buses, and that single fact is the most common reason people call us from Modi'in. The same applies late at night, after the last train. Modi'in also sits close to Ben Gurion Airport — often around 20 minutes — so an early departure or a late arrival becomes a short fixed-price run instead of a night in an airport hotel.

Business and leisure

Modi'in is a commuter city: much of our weekday work is people getting to and from meetings in Tel Aviv, and residents heading out for the evening so that nobody has to drive home. At the other end, Azrieli Mall Modi'in and the city centre are straightforward drop-offs, Anabe Park and the Buchman neighbourhood are a short ride from anywhere in the city, and groups going to an event take one larger vehicle rather than three separate cars.

Practical details

  • About 35 km — roughly 30–40 minutes off-peak
  • Modi'in Center and Pa'ate Modi'in rail stations
  • Azrieli Mall Modi'in and the city centre
  • Anabe Park and Buchman, including group vehicles
  • The only option on Shabbat and holidays

Frequently asked questions

How long does the drive from Tel Aviv to Modi'in take?

Usually 30 to 40 minutes outside rush hour, and longer on a Sunday morning or a Thursday afternoon when Route 443 is busy. Give us the time you need to arrive and we will tell you when to leave.

Is the train not cheaper?

On a weekday, travelling light, between two stations — yes, and we will say so. A taxi wins when the address is not beside the station, when there is luggage, when a group travels together, and on Shabbat and holidays when no trains run at all.

Do you do Ben Gurion Airport runs from Modi'in?

Yes. Modi'in is one of the closest cities to the airport — often around 20 minutes — and we take the flight time into account when we set the pickup.
