Taxi or public transport: compare door to door

A train or bus may suit you when its timetable matches your arrival and the onward journey is manageable. Include the time needed to reach the stop, wait, change services and walk from the final stop to your accommodation. A station name is not the same as your hotel address.

A taxi request lets you discuss a journey to a specific address and the space needed for your party. Compare the total cost for everyone travelling together and ask how the fare will be calculated. The Airports Authority states that fares for the licensed airport taxi queue are metered; our website calculator is an indication for a requested journey, not the airport queue tariff.

Before flying: send one complete request

Include the flight number, arrival date, scheduled local landing time, arriving terminal if known, destination address and a phone number that will work in Israel. Add all passengers and the bags you expect to collect. A flight crossing midnight may arrive on a different date from the one on which it departed.

If you need a child seat, room for a pushchair or help with a mobility aid, describe that before confirming. A passenger-count selector does not establish that a particular vehicle is available. See planning a larger taxi request for the information needed to check the fit.

After landing: separate touchdown from being ready

The scheduled landing time is not the time you will reach the vehicle. Passport checks, baggage collection and walking through the terminal come first. Tell the service if luggage is delayed or your flight details change, and ask what the agreed waiting arrangement covers.

For a pre-arranged pickup, follow the meeting instructions confirmed for your booking. Do not assume that a driver will be inside the arrivals hall or at a particular gate. If the location is unclear, contact the service while you are in a safe place before moving to another level or terminal.

Give the hotel address as well as its name

Send the full hotel or apartment name, street and number. A promenade-facing entrance may differ from the place where a vehicle can stop. Ask reception which entrance to use, especially if your accommodation has several buildings or a pedestrian approach.

For a late arrival, check how you will enter the property. A taxi booking does not arrange hotel check-in or key collection. Read hotel areas and pickup planning and hotel transfers for the hotel side of the journey.

Price, payment and confirmation

The published price guide helps with budgeting. Before travel, clarify the fare basis, luggage allowance, extra stops, requested equipment, waiting and the payment method. Keep the reply with your booking details so that both sides are working from the same plan.

Use the reservation page to prepare the message or call the taxi service. Availability and the final arrangements need confirmation. If you change the hotel or add a second drop-off, ask for the quote and route to be checked again.

Plan Tel Aviv to the airport separately

For the return journey, provide the departure flight, date, correct terminal and hotel pickup address. Work backwards from your airline’s recommended airport arrival time, then allow for the road journey and a buffer. Do not use the departure time as the taxi pickup time.
