Petah Tikva guide — hospitals, offices and the way to the airport
Petah Tikva began in 1878 as the first of the new agricultural settlements and is now a city of hospitals, office parks and shopping centres. Most rides here are for a reason rather than for a view: an appointment at Rabin Medical Center, an office in one of the parks, or a flight from an airport that is close enough to reach in minutes.

Why most rides come here
Rabin Medical Center — Beilinson and Hasharon
The medical centre is one of the largest in the country and a destination for patients from across the region. It is a campus with separate buildings and separate entrances, and the difference between being dropped at the right one and the wrong one is a ten-minute walk with a file in your hand. Name the building or the clinic, and the same entrance for the way back.
Office parks and hi-tech
Petah Tikva holds a large share of the country's office space, arranged in parks of towers rather than streets. Each park has its own internal roads and gates, and the building name is the address. Meeting times in these parks are fixed, and the junctions around them are exactly where a ten-minute buffer disappears.
The old settlement and the newer city
The historic core — the reason for the city's nickname, "mother of the settlements" — is a small grid of early houses and streets. It is compact, walkable and worth an hour, and it is also the part of the city least built for cars.
Getting there and the airport run
Petah Tikva sits east of Tel Aviv and north-east of Ben Gurion Airport, with light rail and bus routes connecting it to Tel Aviv and the surrounding cities, and the Trans-Israel highway nearby. For a daily commute, public transport is workable; for a hospital appointment at a fixed time, or for a flight, the car removes the uncertainty.
The airport drive is short — often around 20 to 30 minutes — which makes Petah Tikva one of the better places in the area to start an early flight from. Ben Gurion arrivals pickup · Private transfers · Price list
