Holon guide — museums, parks and family days out
Holon is the city people visit on purpose rather than pass through: a design museum in a building that is itself the attraction, a children's museum built around participation, a water park, and enough green space to fill a day. This guide covers what is there and how to move between the sites without a car of your own.

The reason people come to Holon
Design Museum Holon
The Design Museum is the city's signature building: a ribbon of weathered steel that wraps around the museum itself. Even visitors who are not certain about the exhibition come for the architecture — which makes this a destination with a specific entrance, not a general district.
The Children's Museum
The children's museum works on guided, participation-based programmes rather than free wandering, so visits are booked for a set time. That fixed start time is exactly the kind of appointment a taxi is good at: arrive at the right entrance a few minutes early, with children and bags, rather than parking three streets away.
Yamit 2000 and the parks
Yamit 2000 is a large water park, seasonal by nature, and the city's parks — including the Peres Park area — are used for walking, cycling and family afternoons. Both are car destinations in practice, because the last stretch from a bus stop is long and, in summer, hot.
Getting to Holon, and why the return trip needs planning
Holon sits immediately south of Tel Aviv and Bat Yam and is connected by bus routes and by the light rail along its edges. The outward journey in the morning is usually easy. The return is where families notice the difference: after a few hours at a water park or a museum programme, with tired children and wet bags, a fixed pickup at the entrance is worth more than saving a few shekels.
For a group — cousins, a class, two families — one larger vehicle is usually simpler than several cars, and the same conversation covers the luggage: large taxi and minibus.
Holon and Ben Gurion Airport
The airport is a straight run north-east, typically 25 to 35 minutes. Holon is also a common first stop for visitors landing late and heading to family, so the flight number matters: send it and the pickup follows the actual landing time. Ben Gurion arrivals pickup · Private transfers · Price list
