Herzliya guide — marina, beach strip and Apollonia
Herzliya splits into three places that feel like separate towns: the old town with its shops and streets, the marina and Pituach beach strip along the water, and the high-tech district inland. Visiting without a car means choosing which one you are going to — the taxi conversation is quicker when you do.

Three Herzliyas
The marina and the beach strip
The marina is a working harbour with restaurants around the water, and the beach strip along Pituach is a long line of sand, beach clubs and restaurants facing the sea. Along that strip the addresses run in a sequence, and the cross street is what fixes a pickup — not the beach name alone.
Apollonia, on the cliff
Apollonia national park preserves the ruins of a Crusader fortress on the cliff above the sea, with the remains of the surrounding settlement. It is a short drive north of the marina and a place where the access road and the car park matter: you cannot simply stop on the coastal road.
The high-tech district
Herzliya Pituach inland is a business quarter of office buildings and hotels, laid out around parking areas rather than street fronts. The building name is the address.
Getting there and onward
Herzliya has a train station on the coastal line, and the trip from Tel Aviv is short. What the train does not do is reach the marina, the beach strip or the office parks — all of which sit a couple of kilometres from the station, along roads not designed for walking in the heat.
That is the gap a taxi fills, and it is also why the airport run from Herzliya is straightforward: it is a coastal drive of roughly 25 to 35 minutes to Ben Gurion. Herzliya taxi page · Ben Gurion arrivals · Price list
Herzliya questions
Can you pick up from the marina or the beach clubs?
Yes, but give the club or restaurant name and the cross street — the beach strip is long and the entrances are not next to each other.
How do I get to Apollonia national park by taxi?
Ask for the park entrance, not the coastal road: the access road and the car park are specific, and stopping on the highway is not possible.
How long from Herzliya to the airport?
About 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic.
