Bat Yam guide — beaches, promenade and getting around
Bat Yam sits directly south of Jaffa on the same coastline, and it is the city this service is based in. This guide is about what is actually useful here: the promenade and its beaches, how the light rail changed getting in and out, and when a taxi is the simpler answer.
- Beaches along one promenade
- Red Line light rail to Tel Aviv

The seafront: one promenade, several beaches
Bat Yam's seafront is a continuous promenade with beaches along it, which is both the attraction and the practical trap: "the beach" is not an address. There is no parking or stopping along the whole front, so each beach has its own access point and its own nearby street.
For a pickup, say which beach or which stretch of the promenade you mean, and add the nearest street. That single detail is the difference between a car arriving at your side and a phone call asking where you are standing.
The promenade itself
The promenade is used for walking, cycling and running, and connects north towards Jaffa. It is at its busiest on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Getting in and out: the Red Line changed the options
Bat Yam is connected to Tel Aviv and Jaffa by the Red Line of the light rail, which runs through the city with several stations and continues north into Tel Aviv. For a commuter going to the centre at a normal hour, that is often the fastest and cheapest option — and it is worth using.
A taxi becomes the better answer when the light rail does not fit the trip: late at night, on Shabbat when the rail is not running, with several suitcases, with small children, or when the destination is a specific address rather than a station. The same applies to early flights, where the difference between leaving at 04:00 with a confirmed car and hoping the first train runs in time is worth a great deal.
Because our base is in Bat Yam, pickups inside the city are short and the driver is rarely far away. Tel Aviv and Bat Yam rides · All service areas
Bat Yam to Ben Gurion Airport
The airport is a short drive north — usually about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic on the Ayalon corridor. For an early departure, agree the pickup time from the Bat Yam address itself; for a landing, send the flight number so the pickup moves with the actual arrival time.
The same ride can continue past the airport to Jerusalem, and a larger vehicle can be arranged when the group or the luggage needs it — large taxi and minibus. Ben Gurion arrivals · Price list
